Facebook rectifies and quantifies 29 million the number of accounts affected in the attack

Facebook reported last Friday that a group of hackers stole data from a total of 29 million users of the platform. At first the company itself claims that it was 50 million users, but later rectified.

It was a computer program that was transferred from one profile to another through user contacts and the option to see how of their profiles. The cyber attackers obtained details of profiles such as dates of birth, educational history, types of devices used, recent searches, followed pages, etc.

Facebook will contact those affected during the next few days to notify them to what type of data The hackers have accessed the attack.
