Desperate retailers will for the first time slash the prices of more than half the goods available online on Christmas Dayanalysts predict.
Tough pre-Christmas trading on the high street means shoppers are expected to be offered more bargains than ever before this early in December, with discount sizes likely to be the biggest in at least six years.
It comes after major brands, including John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, House of Fraser and PC World, announced their sales would begin on Christmas Eve.
However, according to industry experts Love the Sales, the overall proportion of online goods subject to a price markdown is likely to jump as much as 10 per cent overnight.
