Christmas is the season of eggnog, twinkly trees and Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" playing in the grocery store. Some American festivities are recent (like our music), some are borrowed from other countries (like hanging up stockings for Santa), and some have been observed throughout the world for centuries (like the Christmas tree).
