The second leg of the Copa Libertadores final is finally going to take place at Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Sunday night.
Two attempts to play it last month had to be postponed after River fans attacked Boca’s team coach, with players suffering from the effects of the tear gas that was deployed during the chaos.
Fans have been pictured partying in Madrid ahead of the second leg, leading to hopes that those violent scenes won’t be repeated.
The first leg ended a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Boca twice took the lead in the first encounter through Ramon Abila and Dario Benedetto.
But River twice came back and levelled the scores thanks to strikes from Lucas Pratto and an own goal from Carlos Roberto Izquierdoz.
Pablo Perez and Cristian Pavon both start for Boca, with Perez overcoming the eye damage he suffered in the bus attack and the extra time allowing Argentina international Pavon to shake off a knock.
Carlos Tevez is on the bench for Boca, whilst River Plate’s Ignacio Scocco – formerly of Sunderland – is not fit enough to feature.
RIVER PLATE: Armani, Montiel, Maidana, Pinola, Casco, Fernandez, Ponzio, Enzo Perez, Palacios, Martinez, Pratto.
BOCA JUNIORS: Andrada, Buffarini, Izquierdoz, Magallan, Olaza, Pablo Perez, Barrios, Nandez, Pavon, Benedetto, Villa.
