
LOGAN — Keegan Andersen, a three-year letterwinner at tight end for the Aggies from 2011-13, has been named Utah State's director of player personnel, it was announced Friday.
Andersen comes to Utah State after spending the 2018 season as the assistant director of player personnel for the University of Utah football program. Prior to that, Andersen spent three seasons on staff at Oregon State, including serving as the assistant director of football operations for two years (2016-17). He also spent the 2015 season as an offensive graduate assistant coach for the Beavers, and in 2014, he was a defensive graduate assistant at Wisconsin.
Andersen, who spent four seasons with the Aggies, earned Mountain West and Western Athletic Conference academic honors three times. He graduated from USU in 2013 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies. During the 2013 season, as a junior, he started nine games for the eventual Poinsettia Bowl champions, as he caught 14 passes for 167 yards (11.9 yards per reception) and three touchdowns. He also was a member of USU's 2011 and 2012 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl teams.
Andersen, who is the oldest son of current USU head football coach Gary Andersen, played for his father at USU from 2010-12. Keegan and his wife, Jen, were married in June 2014. The couple is expecting their first child, a girl, this May.
