The researcher affirmed that he obtained the information after some people contacted him to inform about a publication in a blog of piracy that pointed to the fact that Collection # 1 data was in the MEGA cloud file exchange site, even though the file has already been deleted.
How to know if your data has been leaked
] The information of the security breach Collection # 1 is already incorporated in the database of HaveIBeenPwned making it the best option to know if your email or password are among the that have ex post

If the screen below the search is green means that your email has not appeared in any of the known leaks so far, so it is completely safe.
the opposite, if the notification is red beware! since your data has been filtered. At the bottom of the platform you can find the list with the pages on which your data has been exposed.
The process to know if a key has been filtered is practically the same: you must enter the password in the box of the platform and with it you will know if it has been exposed, although in this occasion it will not tell you what source it comes from.

The recommendation is the same: if your data has been filtered, l or better is change (immediately) your passwords in addition to strengthening them with these tips, which will increase your security:
- Never use the same password that you have registered in other platforms or websites.
- It is also not advisable to use phrases that can be easy to guess, like your birthday, your pet's name or your name.
- You can create a strong password if you combine words that are easy to remember but have no apparent relationship. Remember that they must include capital letters and numeric characters.
