3 takeaways from the Utah Jazz's 128-112 win over the Atlanta Hawks

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz broke open a close game in the third quarter Friday night, beating the Atlanta Hawks 128-112 at Vivint Arena.

Here are three takeaways as the Jazz (30-23) rebounded from a loss Wednesday for their fourth win in five games and 10th in the past 12.

— A day after finding out about his All-Star snub, Rudy Gobert paced the Jazz with 25 points, including 19 in the second half, and 13 rebounds to go with two blocks and 7-of-7 shooting from the field. Ricky Rubio had his own double-double with 22 points and 11 assists, while Joe Ingles added 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Trae Young had a game-high 28 points to lead Atlanta.

— The Jazz took control of the game in the third quarter, using a 17-4 run to build a 12-point lead after trailing 60-58 at the half. Utah outscored the Hawks 38-27 in the quarter and held Atlanta to 31 percent shooting (9 of 29) in the period while the Jazz shot 68.4 percent (13 of 19).

— Utah had the better night shooting overall, hitting 52.9 percent from the field while holding the Hawks to 39.8 percent. While Atlanta hit more 3-pointers (14 to 12), the Jazz had a 51-40 rebounding advantage and a 62-46 edge in points in the paint.
