Fire shuts down highway near Deer Creek Reservoir

CHARLESTON, Wasatch County — A brush fire near the north end of Deer Creek Reservoir shut down sections of U.S. 189 and state Road 113 in Charleston on Saturday.

The blaze, which started about 3 p.m., is believed to be human caused and had burned at least 20 acres, according to the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office. Federal, state and county fire crews are battling the flames.
