Josh Stewart’s letter to the editor (“The case for quite asphalt,” Sept. 16) caught my attention as it relates to road surfaces. If you want proof of which he speaks, I would suggest that you find your way to Bountiful and drive on 4th East between 400 N. and 500 S.
I have never tried driving down a Union Pacific Railroad track, but it couldn’t be a whole lot different than this road. The expansion joints have appeared as they do in all concrete roads. There are several new concrete roads in Bountiful, and it won’t be long until the expansion joints will confirm that Bountiful could be called the bump-bump city.
It makes me wonder what responsibility the road contractor has when a road surface is as annoying as the one I have referred to.
