OGDEN — An off-duty corporal of the corrections division of the Weber County Sheriff’s Office was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence and interfering with arrest on Friday.
The arrest came after Weber County Sheriff’s deputies said they received a reckless driver complaint in Plain City, northwest of Ogden, and identified the driver as Kevin Morris.
He was taken into custody and booked into the Box Elder County Jail.
Morris has been placed on paid administrative leave and an internal investigation is underway.
The investigation was referred to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The arrest comes a year after Candice Barbara Follum, who at the time was a Weber County Sheriff’s Office evidence technician, was charged with stealing and using drugs from the evidence room, which had been collected during criminal investigations.
She was charged with 20 counts of drug possession and with 20 counts of altering public records.
