HINCKLEY, Millard County — A 2-year-old boy was killed Sunday when a horse stepped on his chest, according to the Millard County Sheriff’s Office.
The boy was at a residence in Hinckley on Sunday that has a private horse arena, said sheriff’s Lt. Rob Clark. About 7:25 p.m., the boy was helped down off a horse. But while the horse was being attended to it became spooked for an unknown reason and stepped on the boy’s chest, Clark said.
Family and emergency crews worked on the boy for an hour before he was declared dead, he said.
The boy’s name was not immediately released.
