HERRIMAN — A 10-year-old girl was hospitalized in critical condition Thursday after she nearly drowned in the bathtub, police said.
The child’s mother told officers she put the girl in the tub because she hadn’t been feeling well, according to Herriman police. When she went to check on her a few minutes later, the mother said she found the child face down in the water.
The mother called 911 about 11:18 a.m. after pulling the girl out the tub and starting to perform CPR, Herriman police said. The incident happened on Moonlite Hill Court in Herriman.
First responders took over the resuscitation efforts and the girl was flown by medical helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital, where she remained in critical condition late Thursday afternoon.
