After being evacuated from his Los Angeles home on Monday, James showed his appreciation for firefighters by providing lunch
It was “Taco Tuesday” for firefighters and first responders fighting the Getty Fire in Los Angeles, thanks to the contribution of Los Angeles Laker LeBron James, according to CNN.
LA Mayor Eric Garcetti tweeted on Tuesday that James had sent a taco truck to feed first responders at their base camp.
Thank you, @KingJames, for generously sending a taco truck to support our @LAFD firefighters, first responders, and partner agencies working to fight the #GettyFire. pic.twitter.com/rgTSMgWXLU

James was evacuated from his Los Angeles home on Monday due to spreading wildfires, the Deseret News reported.
Before the Lakers game Tuesday night, James spoke to reporters about the experience of having to flee for safety.
“It’s just challenging at that hour, getting my family, getting my kids, getting everybody and having to evacuate at such a rapid, rapid rate,” James told reporters, according to CNN. “You don’t really have much time to think about what you can get or what you can do. You just got to get out and get to safety.”
It’s maybe not surprising that James used tacos to show his appreciation to the first responders — James is such a fan of tacos that he attempted to trademark the term “Taco Tuesday” earlier this year, according to Fox News.
The Getty Fire had burned 745 acres and was 27% contained, according to the LA Times on Wednesday. Twelve homes have been destroyed so far by the fire, and around 7,000 homes have been evacuated.
