With all the dating apps in the world today, it makes it hard to figure out what is real. If you never meet someone in person you will never know if you have a real connection. Body language plays an essential role in communicating with people. Body language is composed of the gestures and movements we make with the different parts of our body when communicating with people. Many times, body language speaks more than words. That’s something you can’t gauge with a text or a emoji.
Next, the impact of physical human touch. Just the physical act of a kind and warm touch lowers one’s blood pressure and releases the “love hormone,” oxytocin. According to married researchers and authors, “To touch someone you love is to acknowledge their presence and to communicate your desire for them.” I don’t know about you, but it’s hard to hug a phone.
There’s nothing wrong with being alone. It’s when we let the “lonely” part consume our identity that we fall victim to the slow death of dating apps. It feels like Tinder and Plenty of Fish are more for a good time than forever.
No app can replace true physical, emotional, and human connections.
