Man accused of giving co-workers pot brownies charged

CLEARFIELD — A man who said he thought it would be “harmless” to allow his unsuspecting co-workers to eat pot brownies now faces felony charges.

A 28-year-old South Ogden man was charged Wednesday in 2nd District Court with two counts of surreptitious administration of a substance, a third-degree felony.

On July 9, the man was working at a business in Clearfield when he gave two female co-workers each a brownie, according to charging documents.

“After eating the brownies (the women) began to feel differently because they contained THC/marijuana,” the charges state.

The women notified their supervisor, who in turn contacted police.

The man later sent Facebook messages to the two women to apologize, while saying “he thought his actions were ‘harmless’ and that he would ‘accept the punishment’ for what he’d done,” according to charging documents.
