John and Beth Bowman enjoy a walk as an autumn snowfall blankets the Sugar House neighborhood in Salt Lake City on Sunday. Much of the Salt Lake Valley saw less than an inch of snow as the first of two storms expected to hit the state moved through, while areas of Cottonwood Heights hit 3 inches, Sandy topped 2 inches, and the upper Avenues of Salt Lake City neared the 2 inch mark, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will be low throughout the state Monday, KSL meteorologist Dan Guthrie said, with temperatures on the Wasatch Front staying mostly in the 30s during the day and only reaching a high of about 40 degrees. A second storm with expected snow will move into the state overnight into Tuesday morning.
