WENDOVER — Police identified a 63-year-old Salt Lake man who was hit and killed in Wendover last weekend after he collapsed in the road.

Gary Lee Kingston was stepping off the curb from the Montego Bay Casino onto Wendover Boulevard when he collapsed and fell unconscious into the road, according to the Wendover Police Department on Tuesday.

He fell into the westbound lane and was hit by a car, police said. The driver of the car was 17 years old.

The crash happened early Sunday morning, just after midnight, near the Nevada-Utah state line marker.

Kingston was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they do not know what caused him to collapse.
