Peterson’s son, Travis Peterson, organized the event in his father’s name to return the favor for the blood his father was given while in the hospital a year ago. Cory Peterson had been receiving treatment for pancreatitis “and several compounding factors” at the time of his death, which the Unified Police Department said was due to “medical-related issues.” Peterson was with the department for 10 years.
