SALT LAKE CITY — For the second year in a row, but this time in a higher classification, the Corner Canyon Chargers are state champions.
A year after winning the 5A title, the Chargers cruised to a 49-14 win over the American Fork Cavemen on Friday in the 6A championship game at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Corner Canyon scored 21 points in the second quarter, including two touchdowns inside of three minutes, which lifted it to a 28-7 advantage at halftime.
Chargers quarterback Cole Hagen finished with four touchdown passes to lead the winning side.
