WEST JORDAN — Police have identified two men killed in a shooting Sunday evening in West Jordan.
They are Terence Neilsen, 27, of Alabama, and Anthony Dawson, 29, of Utah.
The shooting happened in a garage near 7000 S. Callie Drive, according to West Jordan police.
Residents of the home called 911 after hearing gunshots coming from their garage, police said. The family had taken in a man experiencing homelessness who was staying in the garage, and a friend of the man had come over, according to Lt. Chaundra Edmonds.
Police arrived to find one man dead and another man in critical condition. The man in critical condition died later Sunday evening.
A gun was recovered at the scene, police said.
Edmonds said the deaths were being investigated as a double homicide, but police were also looking into the possibility that the shooting was a murder-suicide. Drugs and alcohol were also being considered possible factors in the deaths, she said.
