SALT LAKE CITY — BYU cruised to its fifth straight win Saturday against an overwhelmed opponent, as the Cougars beat UMass 56-24 at McGuirk Alumni Stadium in Amherst, Mass.

BYU moved to 7-4 on the year with the win and put the contest away by scoring touchdowns on seven straight first-half possessions.
