LOS ANGELES — The Utah Jazz have suffered their first injury setback of the new season.
The team reported Saturday that back-up center/forward Ed Davis was examined Friday by the medical staff including X-ray and magnetic resonance imaging that determined he suffered a fractured left fibula that was sustained during the Jazz’s loss to Sacramento Friday night. The 6-foot-9 North Carolina product will be reevaluated in four weeks, a release stated.
Davis was among four players scratched from participation in Utah’s next game against the L.A. Clippers on Sunday at Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. Also out are guards Emmanuel Mudiay, due to left hamstring tightness, and Dante Exum, who is still rehabbing a knee injury. Guard Justin Wright-Foreman — under a G-League two-way contract — will not suit up either, according to the release.
