BLUFFDALE — A woman died Saturday morning after she was hit by a car on I-15, troopers said.
Just after 6:30 a.m., the woman jumped out of her boyfriend’s car into northbound traffic at 14600 South in Bluffdale, the Utah High Patrol said.
Troopers said the boyfriend, who was driving the car, had pulled over as his girlfriend was attempting to jump out. When the woman ran out into the road and was blocking traffic, the driver pulled back onto the road. His car was then struck by a dump truck pulling a paver, troopers said. That pushed the car into the woman, killing her.
The boyfriend was taken to a hospital with serious injuries that didn’t appear life-threatening, the UHP said.
Traffic in the area was closed while a serious crash team investigated, the UHP said.
The names of the victims have not been released.
