On an individual award note, the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year was San José State quarterback Josh Love, while Boise State defensive end Curtis Weaver earned Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Special Teams Player of the Year went to Broncos’ running back Avery Williams, Jr., while Freshman of the Year went to another Boise State tailback, George Holani. Finally, the Mountain West Coach of the Year was Hawaii’s Nick Rolovich.
All awards were chosen by the conference’s 12 head coaches and a select media panel and in all, Utah State had four offensive, four defensive and two special team players recognized, the fifth-most in the league.
Utah State finished the regular season 7-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play, good for a third place finish in the Mountain Division. The Aggies are bowl eligible for the eighth time in the past nine seasons and will play in the 14th bowl game in school history this year. The team will learn its postseason destination on Sunday, Dec. 8.
