We’ve been there before. You’re wrapping a gift. You cut out the right amount of paper — or at least you think so. The sides don’t meet. The ends don’t touch. You’re going to need extra cuts of paper or an entirely new cutout.

Or you could fold the wrapping paper diagonally, according to a new viral video.

What’s going on: A video that shows a different way to wrap a gift went viral on Twitter over the weekend.

• The video shows someone wrapping a boxed gift. But the ends and sides of the paper show there’s not enough wrapping paper to make it happen.
• The person wrapping the gift turns the box diagonally, and the paper can be easily wrapped right after that.

By the numbers: The video has more than 22,000 retweets and 86,000 likes.

Context: A similar video went viral on TikTok. The account @mrs_dee_panda shared the video with the caption:

• “To all the people who were triggered on my last video because I taped the box lol. I used less tape this time and use a square box.”
