Few, if any, NBA players catch the ire of Utah Jazz fans like Gordon Hayward and Enes Kanter, who both started their careers with the Jazz.
Hayward and Kanter are now teammates on the Boston Celtics, and will be making their lone trip to Salt Lake City this season next week (barring a matchup in the NBA Finals).
Earlier this week on an episode of “The Enes Kanter Show,” Kanter and host Chris Forsberg got talking at the end about the Celtics’ upcoming road trip, a four-game Western Conference swing that begins Friday in Minnesota and concludes next Wednesday in Utah.
When Forsberg mentioned Utah, Kanter said, “Oh, no,” and then immediately said, “You know what? I wonder who’s gonna get more booed, me or Gordon.”
Forsberg asked Kanter if he really thinks they’ll get booed, to which an incredulous Kanter said, “What? Every time I touch the ball, they boo me.”
“Really?,” Forsberg asked.
Kanter: “Every time I go back to Utah —”
“They seem like such nice people,” Forsberg interjected.
“I feel so good this year because I have Gordon, so it’s going to be like, so he gets the boos, too,” Kanter said.
Kanter continued: “Utah is like, it’s amazing people, but, like, that crowd can be tough sometimes.”
