After a 5.3 magnitude earthquake ripped through the capital city of his native Croatia on Sunday, Utah Jazz forward Bojan Bogdanovic took to Instagram to share photos of damage that had taken place but also a message of resolve.
Translations for the message — written in Croatian — vary some, but center on the idea that despite the city of Zagreb being damaged, the country will remain strong.
He closed his message with two praying emojis, with “Zagreb” written between them.
It is not clear where Bogdanovic has been since the NBA was suspended last Wednesday after his Jazz teammate tested positive for the coronavirus. Numerous national outlets reported last week that in a memo to teams, the NBA said players could leave the cities they play in but they are not allowed to travel outside of North America.
The earthquake in Croatia comes four days after a 5.7 magnitude earthquake hit Magna, the effects of which were felt throughout the Salt Lake Valley.
