OGDEN — A driver was critically injured Sunday after hitting and driving through a building, police said.
About 11:56 a.m., witnesses saw the Honda CR-V driving north on Washington Boulevard when it darted across all lanes, jumped the curb and struck Patricia’s Restaurant, at 3303 Washington Blvd, said Ogden Police Lt. Cameron Stiver.
The vehicle traveled through the building and almost made it all the way through to the north side before stopping, according to Stiver.
The driver and passenger were both taken to McKay-Dee Hospital. The driver was listed in critical condition and the passenger’s condition was described as “fair.”
Witnesses thought the crash might have been caused by a medical condition, but that was not immediately confirmed, Stiver said.
A building inspector was evaluating the restaurant Sunday afternoon.
