New charges filed against Ogden ‘child porn addict,’ police say

OGDEN — A registered sex offender is now facing new criminal charges after police say he was caught looking at child pornography.

Scott Andrew Clark, 44, of Ogden, was charged Thursday in 2nd District Court with 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

Clark was arrested Tuesday after employees of a closed business called police about a suspicious vehicle parked outside their building. Officers made contact with the driver, Clark, and had him step out of his car. At that time, he began acting very nervous and then admitted to looking at child pornography with the victim ages ranging from infants to teens, according to charging documents.

Clark was taken to police headquarters for more questioning.

“Scott told me that he had already been to prison for child porn and was now headed back. Scott began getting emotional,” the charges states. “Scott admitted to being a child porn addict, stating that he wished to get help for this.”

Investigators found nearly 1,100 pictures and videos on Clark’s phone, the charges state.

Clark is a registered sex offender in Utah who was convicted of two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor in 2003, and lewdness by a sex offender in 2017, according to court records.
