Police release images of person of interest in alleged sexual assault

SOUTH SALT LAKE — South Salt Lake police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a potential sexual assault suspect.

On Saturday, a juvenile was assaulted near Lincoln Elementary School, 3750 S. 450 East, some time between 7 a.m. and 8:10 a.m., said South Salt Lake police spokeswoman Danielle Croyle.

Detectives are looking for a person of interest, described as a black male, about 6 feet tall and skinny with braided hair, last seen in the area of 3800 South and 300 East. Police released surveillance images of the person of interest Wednesday.

Police declined Wednesday to release any other information about the incident including the age of the victim, condition of the victim or whether the alleged assault was random.
