The restaurant chain says it is working to restock the mix

Waffle House announced on Wednesday that it would start selling its waffle mix online. Four hours later, the mix was already sold out, according to USA Today.

With many Waffle House locations closed around the country, the fast food chain tweeted on Wednesday that their new waffle mix would be a way to “keep the Waffle House experience alive in your Waffle Home,” USA Today reported.

However, Waffle House tweeted again about four hours later to tell fans that they had already sold out of the mix, according to CNN.

An order of the Waffle House Waffle Mix includes three bags of the mix, each bag containing enough to make five or six waffles. The mix cost $20, according to CNN.

Waffle House tweeted it is currently “working to restock” the mix and it expects to have more in about a week, according to CNN.

By March 26, Waffle House had closed 429 of its locations due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, according to CBS News. That leaves 1,563 of their locations around the country still open and offering carry-out.

However, the closure of Waffle House locations in March caused the Waffle House Index — an unofficial measurement of natural disasters in the United States — to turn red, according to the Deseret News.
