Star Wars Celebration is an annual event to honor “Star Wars”
Star Wars Celebration has updated fans about its annual event, stopping short of canceling or postponing the event.
What’s the news:
- Star Wars Celebration released a statement Thursday that revealed the event’s coordinators are working with city officials in Anaheim, California, to ensure “our event plans meet or exceed the latest public health guidance, including that of local and state authorities.”
- Star Wars Celebration said: “This is a very dynamic situation, with a rapidly changing landscape. While the opening day of Celebration is still four months away, we are actively assessing the most up to date information and following all directions from federal, state and local public health authorities regarding large public gatherings in the state of California.”
- If the event is canceled or postponed, the event said it will either transfer tickets to the new event date or offer a full refund.
- Star Wars Celebration said it plans to release new details in the next few weeks.
- The company said: “We know how much Star Wars Celebration means to all of you, and we will make every effort to give you as much advance notice as possible regarding any changes to our plans.”
A separate ‘Star Wars’ event
- ReedPop — the organizers of New York Comic Con and Star Wars Celebration — will host a two-day “Star Wars” virtual event beginning on May 4 (May the 4th, aka, Star Wars Day) and May 5.
- The event will include virtual events, including live-tweeting “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars: Rebels” episodes, as well as “Star Wars” films.
