‘The Other Side of Heaven 2’ is heading back to Megaplex Theatres (which, yes, is open right now)

Megaplex Theatres will add the movie

“The Other Side of Heaven 2” will make its return to theaters with showings at Megaplex Theatres locations.

The 2019 film told the story of Elder John H. Groberg, who returns to Tonga in the 1960s with his wife and five daughters. The Grobergs face a test of faith when their sixth child is born with a serious illness.

“With so many concerns in the world today, the Grobergs’ story is the type of inspirational message that people need right now,” said Blake Andersen, Megaplex Theatres president. “We’re delighted to work with our local film community as well as great partners to offer guests the opportunity to see this amazing film on the big screen.”

“The Other Side of Heaven 2” will join other Hollywood blockbusters available at the Megaplex, including The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” series, “Dunkirk,” “Just Mercy,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “The Greatest Showman.”

The film — which debuted June 28, 2019 — was rereleased in September after “hundreds” of people called for a showing, according to the Deseret News.

The film has earned $1.8 million at the domestic box office, according to Box Office Mojo.

Megaplex Theatres opened up on June 18 amid the coronavirus pandemic. The theater reopened with limited capacity for theaters, improved cleaning and sanitation guidelines. Megaplex does not have a face mask requirement.
