Utah confirms 350 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, lowest in month

SALT LAKE CITY — Sunday brought Utah 350 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, marking the lowest daily increase in cases in more than a month.

The cases were confirmed as 5,212 tests were recorded, with a positive rate of 6.7%. They bring the state’s total since the pandemic began to 37,973 of 505,351 people tested, a 7.5% positive rate.

The rolling seven-day average for daily new cases is 541, and the average positive rate of tests is 9.1%.

Currently, 210 people are hospitalized with the novel coronavirus in Utah, eight more than on Saturday.

No new deaths were reported Sunday, leaving the state’s toll at 274.

Nearly 25,000 of Utah’s cases are considered recovered after passing the three-week point since their diagnoses.
