‘I want Black people to stop getting killed and no justice for it. I’m sick of it. I just want laws that are fair to Black citizens and fair to cops, too,’ Cardi B said.

Rapper Cardi B recently spoke with presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden for the September issue of Elle magazine regarding the upcoming election and topics concerning racial equality, free education, health care and taxes.

Cardi herself couldn’t believe she was talking to Biden, as at the beginning of the virtual interview she said, “Oh, snap. Is this real?”

The rapper expressed her negative feelings towards current President Donald Trump, saying he is “confusing” and how she feels as if the government is constantly lying. “Tell me the truth, the hard-core truth,” she said according to Fox News.

  • “I have a whole list of things that I want our next president to do for us,” Cardi added, “But first, I just want Trump out. His mouth gets us in trouble so much.”

Cardi advocated for her fans by telling Biden that they care most about “free college and Medicare.” She continued by asking him, “When you see the taxes coming off your check, you don’t understand, because you feel like you’re putting in so many hours. People want to know, can you provide college education, this (health care) plan, without a big chunk of taxes coming out of our checks?” according to Fox News.

Biden responded by stating that, “If I get elected president, anybody with a family (that makes) less than $125,000, you’re going to get free education,” he said. “And everybody gets free community college.”

Cardi questioned if he could actually make that happen and Biden’s response was, “Absolutely, positively.”

Racial equality was another topic of conversation, as Cardi called “for equality and systemic change.”

As a mother of a 2-year-old, she said “I don’t want to (have to) tell my kid, ‘You have to be careful going to the store. Don’t wear a hoodie. Please don’t get stopped.’ We don’t want that. And I don’t want to feel a certain type of animosity toward a different race, because I feel like they get it easier than us. Nobody wants to feel like that,” according to USA Today.

According to CNN, Biden praised Cardi for her hard work and said how her generation will change the world for the better.

“One of the things that I admire about you is that you keep talking about what I call equity — decency, fairness, and treating people with respect,” he said.

Biden also mentioned if elected president that, “I’ll make mistakes as president, but I’ll admit to the mistakes I make, and you’re never going to have to wonder whether I’ll keep my word. Just check me out; I’ve never broken my word. Never in my life,” Biden said per USA Today.
