Gaga also encouraged her fans to wear face masks, calling it a ‘sign of respect’
Of the many performers to take the stage at MTV’s Video Music Awards on Sunday, it seems like Lady Gaga’s many face masks were what stole the show.
Performers like Gaga, Miley Cyrus, BTS and The Weeknd performed in a socially distanced show without audiences on Sunday night, according to NPR.
Gaga not only performed but also accepted five different awards while wearing a variety of face masks that were a little, well, out there.

Gaga also encouraged fans and viewers to wear face masks during her acceptance speech of the first-ever MTV Tricon Award, according to People magazine.
“I might sound like a broken record, but wear a mask — it’s a sign of respect,” Gaga said, according to People.
Apart from the Tricon Award, Gaga also took home awards for best song and best collaboration for “Rain on Me” with Ariana Grande, as well as for artist of the year, USA Today reported.
Gaga performed a medley from her new album “Chromatica,” which included a duet with Grande. Unlike other performers during the evening, both Gaga and Grande wore masks throughout the performance, according to HuffPost.
Viewers and fans of Gaga had a lot to say about the many different face masks that she wore throughout the evening.

My respect for @ArianaGrande and @ladygaga just went up ten times seeing as they were some of the only people at the VMAs who wore masks.
