Police identify woman found dead near Saltair resort

MAGNA — Police have identified a woman who was found near the Great Saltair on Saturday.

Akosita Kaufusi, 42, of Salt Lake City, was found off of the Frontage Road at the edge of Salt Lake County, according to Unified police.

Police believe she had been deceased for several days. They did not initially determine her cause of death but called the death suspicious.

No updates in the case were available Sunday, said Unified Police Sgt. Melody Cutler.
