Sarah Palin doesn’t want Kamala Harris to lose her voice during the 2020 election

On Wednesday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin released a set of tips for Kamala Harris, who was named the vice presidential running mate for Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

Palin said there are a series of “life lessons” for Harris to learn when she’s on the campaign trail, some of which could stick with her the rest of her life.

1. Don’t trust anyone new.
2. Fight to keep your team with you.
3. Don’t get muzzled or let the campaign change how you speak.
4. There are new terms to learn, like “OTR,” which is when you get off the campaign trail even though you’re still on the trail.

6. Have fun.

Palin and Geraldine Ferraro are the only two women who were female running mates on major party tickets in U.S. history.

Palin made headlines about 12 years ago when she became the vice presidential nominee for Arizona Sen. John McCain, who was running for office against President Barack Obama. A surprising pick, no doubt, but one that has lasted long in our cultural understanding of presidential races.

Palin, though, made a number of gaffes during her run for her office. She and McCain’s advisers often butted heads as they tried to shift her language and message, USA Today reported.

Top advisers for McCain said they later regretted suggesting Palin for the pick, according to USA Today.
