The Stars were out in Orlando, plus two other keys in Jazz’s 119-111 loss to Spurs

SALT LAKE CITY — In the first game of a back-to-back set, the Utah Jazz fell to the San Antonio Spurs 119-111 on Friday afternoon in Orlando.

Here are three takeaways from the game:

• Four starters were out for Utah, with only one regular starter — Joe Ingles — playing Friday. Even so, Ingles didn’t hit the court in the second half, playing just 16 minutes and finishing with 12 points, all on 3-pointers. The Jazz resembled more of their G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, as several younger guys played extensive minutes, including Miye Oni, who got his first start.
• A handful of those young players showed well for the Jazz. Oni had 14 points and seven rebounds in 30 minutes, Tony Bradley put up 15 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in 22 minutes, and Jarrell Brantley added eight points, two 3-pointers, six rebounds, three assists and three steals in 23 minutes.

• San Antonio only trailed by two early and led by as many as 16 points, as the Spurs shot 50.6% from the floor in the game and 60.9% in the first quarter. San Antonio also had 27 assists while Derrick White (24 points) led six Spurs in double figures. Utah, though, pulled as close as six points multiple times in the fourth quarter before falling late. For the second straight game, the Jazz again were sharp from 3-point range, hitting 16 of 37, including four from Jordan Clarkson, who had 24 points.
