SALT LAKE CITY — Utah health officials reported another 448 COVID-19 cases but no new deaths on Sunday.
The new cases were confirmed out of 4,947 tests, with a 9.1% positive rate, according to the Utah Department of Health.
Since the pandemic began, 51,854 have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Utah and 655,507 people have been tested — an overall positive rate of 7.9%.
The rolling seven-day average for new cases is 387 per day in the state, and the average positive test rate is 9.1%. Currently, 116 patients in Utah are hospitalized with the disease, three fewer than on Saturday. The state’s COVID-19 hospitalizations since the pandemic began now total 3,080.
Utah’s death toll stands at 407 as no additional deaths were reported for the second day in a row on Sunday.
Now 43,724 of the state’s COVID-19 patients are considered recovered after passing the three-week point since their diagnoses, meaning there are 8,130 active infections.
