SALT LAKE CITY — Utah health officials reported 458 additional cases of the novel coronavirus on Saturday and no new deaths.
The new cases were confirmed out of 2,815 tests, with a 16.3% positive rate, according to the Utah Department of Health. They bring the state’s total cases since the pandemic began to 51,406 of 650,560 people tested — an overall positive rate of 7.9%.
The rolling seven-day average for new cases is 366 per day, and the average positive test rate is 9.1%.
Currently, 119 patients in Utah are hospitalized with COVID-19, one more than on Friday. Just over 3,000 people have required hospitalization for the disease in Utah since the outbreak began.
The state’s death toll stands at 407, with no additional deaths reported Saturday.
About 43,300 of Utah’s confirmed cases are considered recovered after surviving the three-week point since their diagnoses, meaning just over 8,000 infections are still active.
