Whoopi Goldberg has called on Disney to add Wakanda to its list of theme parks.

Should Disney build a theme park based on Wakanda? Whoopi Goldberg wants it to happen.

What’s going on?

Goldberg called on Disney to build a new Wakanda theme park to honor the late actor Chadwick Boseman, who died last week after struggling with colon cancer. Boseman starred as Black Panther in “Black Panther,” which took place in the fictional country of Wakanda.

Could it already be there?

Disney announced a new Marvel expansion to Disney California Adventure park, which was supposed to launch this past summer had the novel coronavirus not disrupted the world.

The park — as I wrote for Deseret.com on March 11 on the last day before the coronavirus pandemic changed the United States — was supposed to contain an Avengers campus, which would have included characters like Black Widow, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy and, yes, heroes from Wakanda.
