AMERICAN FORK — A small family home was destroyed by fire late Friday.
A single occupant of the single-story home near 240 South and 200 East made it out safely and was not hurt after flames broke out just before midnight, said American Fork Fire Capt. Leif Nelson.
Three agencies responded to the fire to keep it from spreading.
The home was engulfed in flames when the firefighters arrived, and it was declared a complete loss. Damage is expected to be between $200,000 to $250,000, Nelson said.
The lone occupant, a man, was displaced, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
