SALT LAKE CITY — One of three people shot at Tanner Park in Salt Lake City on Sunday has died as a result of his injuries, police announced Monday.

The name of the 25-year-old man was not immediately released.

Just after 4 p.m. on Sunday, police were called to Tanner Park, 2695 E. Heritage Way. Witnesses told investigators that a man fired several shots at the victims, who were inside a car, as the gunman drove by.

Updated conditions on the other two who were shot — a man and a woman — were not immediately available.

Police were looking Monday for a dark-colored SUV, possibly a BMW. Salt Lake police have not said if the gunman was believed to be the only person in the vehicle, if he shot as he drove by, or if he got out of his car and fired.

Anyone with information on the shooting can call police at 801-799-3000.

This is the 10th homicide investigation in Salt Lake City this year, according to police. There were 11 at this time last year.

Correction: An earlier version of the story incorrectly stated that three men were shot. Two men and a woman were shot, according to police.
