Utah has seen 193,809 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 868 total deaths as of Sunday, according to the Utah Department of Health. That’s an increase of 1,722 cases from Saturday. Five new deaths were reported.

- Total reported people tested: 1,418,227
- Total COVID-19 hospitalizations: 8,076
- Current COVID-19 hospitalizations: 564
- Total COVID-19 deaths: 868
- Single-day high for reported cases: 4,588 (Nov. 20)
- Single-day high for reported deaths: 26 (Nov. 25)
Recently
- The state reported 2,043 COVID-19 cases and 14 more deaths on Saturday. “While the seven-day average has fallen since it reached above 3,000 cases earlier this week, it’s too early to tell if the state is seeing a decline in cases as testing facilities were closed on Thursday, and some are running with reduced hours over the holiday weekend,” according to the Deseret News.
- On Friday, the state reported a two-day total of 6,142 new COVID-19 cases and 15 additional deaths in Utah. Numbers were not reported on Thursday, the Thanksgiving holiday.
- Utahns can anticipate a “June or July time frame” for COVID-19 vaccines, a health official said Wednesday. Dosages will be available first for high-priority groups such as hospital staff.
Worldwide
Globally, the novel coronavirus pandemic has now infected 61,869,330 and killed 1,448,896 people as of Sunday, according to the World Health Organization.
