SALT LAKE CITY — Utah health officials reported another 2,043 COVID-19 cases and 14 more deaths on Saturday.
The new cases were confirmed out of 7,443 people tested, with a 27.4% positive rate, according to the Utah Department of Health. The rolling seven-day average for new cases is now 2,575 per day, and the average positive test rate is 21.4%.
On Saturday, 573 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Utah, which is four more than were hospitalized the previous day. Intensive care units throughout the state were 81.7% full, and referral ICUs that can treat the most serious patients were 85.1% full.
The deaths reported Saturday bring the state’s toll to 863. They were:
- Washington County man, between 25-44, not hospitalized at time of death.
- Salt Lake County woman, older than 85, long-term care facility resident.
- Weber County woman, 25-44, unknown if hospitalized.
- Salt Lake County woman, older than 85, hospitalized.
- Salt Lake County man, 65-84, hospitalized.
- Davis County man, 65-84, hospitalized.
- Salt Lake County man, 25-44, hospitalized.
- Washington County man, older than 85, not hospitalized.
- Salt Lake County woman, older than 85, hospitalized.
- Washington County man, 65-84, long-term care facility resident.
- Salt Lake County man, 65-84, hospitalized.
- Weber County woman, 45-64, hospitalized.
- Salt Lake County man, 65-84, hospitalized.
- Utah County man, 65-84, hospitalized.
To date, 192,087 cases have been confirmed out of 1,412,084 people tested in Utah, with a 13.6% positive rate. Hospitalizations since the pandemic began now total 8,029.
