Some concert halls and theaters are starting to re-open amid the pandemic, but most musicians continue to host performances virtually.
Here are six concerts to watch from the comfort of your home this weekend.
FRIDAY
Cyndi Lauper benefit concert
What: Cyndi Lauper’s annual benefit concert to combat homelessness has a strong lineup this year, with artists like Cher, Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Brandi Carlile and more taking part.
When/Where: The Home for the Holidays benefit concert will stream on Lauper’s TikTok channel at 6 p.m. MT. An additional stream of the concert will air Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. MT via Lauper’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
How much: The streams are free to watch, and donations are encouraged.
SATURDAY
Andrea Bocelli
What: Eight months after Andrea Bocelli sang “Amazing Grace” in front of the historic Duomo Cathedral on Easter Sunday, the Italian tenor is performing a “Believe in Christmas” holiday recital from Italy’s Teatro Regio di Parma. The concert will feature Bocelli’s 8-year-old daughter, Virginia, and include a number of songs from his new album, “Believe,” and Christmas favorites.
When: Dec. 12; the concert has staggered starting times to accommodate Bocelli’s global audience (it will air at 9 p.m. MT), and viewers can choose any time zone to watch in, regardless of location.

Lindsey Stirling
What: Lindsey Stirling’s virtual Christmas concert is easily her biggest show of 2020. The dancing violinist, who typically goes on tour this time of year, knew she wanted to keep the Christmas tour tradition alive in some capacity. So she combined her love of music videos and live performance to create the pre-filmed “Home for the Holidays Special.”
“I think it’s going to bring a lot of people joy,” she told the Deseret News. “Whether people are sewing masks at home or getting groceries for their neighbor who can’t leave, it’s this idea that we all have our own gifts and our own ways of helping. It’s just about lifting where you stand.”
When: The Christmas show will stream Dec. 12 at 1 and 6 p.m. MT, and be available to watch on-demand for 72 hours after the second showing.

David Archuleta
What: David Archuleta is the special guest for the Utah school American Heritage’s upcoming Christmas concert. Archuleta will perform alongside the student orchestra and choir.
“This is one of those examples where the pandemic and all those difficulties that have canceled concerts actually became a benefit. He’s a very in-demand performer ... but miraculously this year, his schedule in December was pretty free,” orchestra director Kane Brown told the Deseret News. “Not only is he a phenomenal musician, but he’s an amazing example to my young musicians. He’s influenced our students in so many ways without even really knowing it.”

Brandi Carlile
What: Grammy Award-winning singer Brandi Carlile performs with longtime bandmates Phil Hanseroth and Tim Hanseroth for a holiday performance from her log cabin. The trio will play a wide range of originals, Christmas tunes and covers.

‘The Chosen’
What: “The Chosen,” a popular series that recounts the life of Jesus Christ, celebrates Christmas with a two-hour music special. Filmed at the Jerusalem set in Goshen, Utah — where Season 2 is currently in production — the musical tribute features Christian artists Mandisa, For King and Country, Zach Williams, Phil Wickham, Joshua Aaron, Hillsong United, Matt Maher, Stephen McWhirter and Jason Clayborn, The Piano Guys and The Bonner Family.
