AMERICAN FORK — A judge has agreed to dismiss a case against a Santaquin man accused of embezzlement by his business partners.

Dustin Pace Harrow, 39, was accused of embezzling nearly half a million dollars from his company to pay for things such as trips to Disneyland, and was charged in March with theft, a second-degree felony, and unlawful acts by a director, a third-degree felony. The case was later transferred to American Fork’s 4th District Court. In July, the charges were amended to add several counts of forgery, according to court records.

But on Tuesday, prosecutors filed a motion for the case to be dismissed, due in part to witness credibility issues and an ongoing civil lawsuit between the parties, according to the Utah County Attorney’s Office. The judge agreed to dismiss the case.

In 2017, Harrow and two other men entered into a business venture together and Harrow was the day-to-day manager. But after an audit in 2019, the other partners accused him of embezzling nearly $453,000 and using the money for things such as personal car payments, hunting excursions and trips to Disneyland, according to charging documents.
