Letter: Salt Lake educators deserve a bonus too

Charles Dickens said it best: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”

I was heartened to hear the Legislature was giving a bonus to educators (best of times) until I heard the stipulation that the Salt Lake City School District would not be included unless teachers returned to in-person learning (the worst of times). What a slap in the face to the hardworking administration and staff, who have worked tirelessly to learn new technology and use creative ways to implement it in their teaching.

So at the end of 2020 with the promise of a brighter future ahead, let’s follow the biblical admonition: Peace on earth and good will to all men.
