Utah State-Weber State basketball game canceled due to COVID-19 issues

The scheduled men’s basketball game between Utah State and Weber State set for this Saturday in Ogden has been canceled due to positive COVID-19 results within the Aggies program.

Both schools announced Thursday they are exploring the possibility of playing the game later this season.

The Aggies’ home game with Dixie State next Tuesday, Dec. 15, could also be impacted, Utah State said, and further details on that matchup will be forthcoming.

It’s the second Weber State game canceled so far this season because of pandemic-related issues. The Wildcats’ game at Dixie State scheduled for Nov. 28 was also canceled.

Weber State’s next scheduled contest is a pair of road games at Portland State — on Dec. 18 and 20 — to open Big Sky Conference play.

After the Aggies’ now-TBD contest with Dixie State, Utah State is scheduled to open Mountain West Conference play with two home games against San Jose State on Dec. 21 and 23.
